The Midi Wrap Dress: A Wardrobe Staple
Hi guys, long time no see! I haven’t updated this blog in a very long time but now that we are going back to into lockdown in the UK it felt like a good time to keep busy and get writing again.
If you follow me on my other platforms (if you’re not, I really think you should 🙂 ), you will have possibly noticed that in recent months the focus of my content has shifted towards more fashion and lifestyle content. I have to say it feels great. It is definitely the content I enjoy creating the most and the reception has been incredible.
I have reached a point in my life where I am trying to make more conscious shopping decisions and create a capsule wardrobe with staple pieces that can be worn season after season. I have started a mini-series about this over on my YouTube channel if you want to know more. A piece I think is a classic staple all year round is the midi wrap dress.
The versatility of midi wrap dresses makes them suitable for any occasion and any season. They can be simple and understated and worn to work, they can be dressed up with heels and worn to a nice dinner.
This midi dress I styled is from Zara (£49.99) and I am so in love with the print. It’s very easy to make a statement with a piece like this. Although I wore it at the end of summer, this could definitely also be styled with sheer tights, chunky flat boots and a big fur coat for a super cool winter look.
Midi wrap dresses are also incredibly flattering for all body types. This is mostly down to the tie waist detail that many of these dresses have. Cinched in waist and flowing skirt? Winning combination. The length is also universally flattering and if you’re shorter like me, they won’t drown you!
I have spotted a few other midi wrap dresses that I absolutely love and wanted to share with you all.
The first one is from Mango. Can you tell I’m loving fun prints at the moment?!
This dress from Sasha on Revolve is a knitted version of the wardrobe staple and perfect for the winter:
Finally, this simple but striking wrap dress from Topshop is perfect for (post-lockdown) evenings but could also be dressed down. I like that this has shorter sleeves too:
Do you have a midi wrap dress in your wardrobe yet? Will you be getting one? Let me know in the comments!
