Beauty Cocoon Box is an exciting monthly subscription service offering affordable beauty boxes worldwide
Beauty Cocoon Box first caught my eye after I followed their social media pages to find a refreshing array of women of colour and lots of niche black-owned beauty brands. The philosophy and positive energy of the brand is infectious and when the team reached out to me to review one of their boxes, I jumped at the chance.
How does it work
Beauty Cocoon Box offers two types of monthly boxes – the Beauty Box (£21 per month) and the Skincare Box (£25 per month). The Beauty Box comes with 4-5 full and luxury sized beauty items ranging from makeup to application tools. The Skincare Box features specially selected skincare products for the body (something I haven’t yet come across from other subscription services!) The service is auto-renewing once you purchase your first box but you can cancel at any time. Subscribers also have access to member-exclusive offers and giveaways.
The Beauty Box
Being makeup-obsessed, I opted for the Beauty Box of course. When it arrived I completely fell in love with the packaging and will definitely be keeping the box to use at my dressing table once I redecorate my room.
“The best base for the perfect makeup is a flawless application.”
I received 5 products in my box, including full-sized items, making this subscription great value for money. These included:
Moda – 2pc Professional Makeup Brush Duo
I was particularly excited about these being included in the box as I mainly only use Morphe or Real Techniques makeup brushes. The brushes are amazing quality and I see them becoming a staple in my collection – especially the powder brush which is great for blending out highlighter.
Melanie Mills Gleam Body Radiance (Bronze Gold)
One of my all time favourite YouTubers, Sondjradeluxe, raves about this product so when I saw it had been included in the October box, I did a little happy dance 🙂 This product can be used on the body, as a moisturiser, under or over makeup.
This shade is VERY gold. An extremely pigmented gold. I can see it being great for summer by adding a couple of drops to body lotion for a subtle glow.
Mannakadar Bronzer and Highlighter Duo
This little gem is multipurpose and can be used as a highlighter/bronzer or eyeshadow. For this reason, it’s one of my favourite products in the box because you can really get your money’s worth.
Tint Beauty Mythical Lipstick Duo (Make Believe)
This liquid lipstick and liner duo was the icing on the cake. The lipstick is a great universal nude for women of colour and I’ve loved pairing this with a brown lip liner for everyday looks.
I had never heard of Tint before but I will definitely be getting my hands on more of their lipsticks as the formula is comfortable and extremely long-wearing.
What I particularly loved about the box was that it introduced me to brands I had never come across and I will definitely be exploring them more, as well as Beauty Cocoon Box’s other partners.
If you’re a makeup lover and regularly buy makeup, I would highly recommend this subscription service. It’s a fantastic way of growing and reviving your collection with products suited to women of colour in an easy affordable way.
